cleaning03June is National Safety Month, and while there are many standard safety threats to children that we try to prevent, there are some that maybe aren’t as prevalent. Poison control is an important one! The best way to avoid poison ingestion is to have a plan in place to keep poisonous substances out of reach of children and to know what precautions we can take to prevent contact.

During this time of the year, many children and adults suffer from asthma and allergies so the purpose of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA) is to help educate people on this ailment and to bring awareness. More than 26 million people in the US have asthma, which means that likely you or someone you know suffers from asthma and allergies. Because such a large portion of the population, including kids, is affected by this illness it is important that schools have Allergy Action Plans set so that, in the event of an emergency, the staff knows what to do if someone starts to have an attack.
