Magnus Health at BHS Career Expo

Yesterday we joined other local businesses, colleges, and professional services at the Broughton High School 2012 Fall Career Expo. What a fun opportunity to connect with local teens and speak with them about possible career paths. Some students were clear on what their future might hold, but not surprisingly, many more resembled deer caught in the headlights when talking about a possible career. I was the same way, so I was certainly able to empathize.

Career interests ranged from automotive technology to biology, nursing to cosmetology, criminal justice to armed forces, engineering to law, and professional sports to the 2020 Olympics among many more. For the most part, many seemed unaware of the health information software sector, so we truly enjoyed exposing students to a new field, and a new outlet for those with technology, business, or medical interests.

And, the students taught us a few things as well:

  1. They are excited about their futures, whatever they may hold
  2. They love anything free
  3. They love Chick-fil-a
  4. They appreciate the Justin Bieber haircut

Thanks to Broughton High School for having us, and to all the students who stopped by to speak with us!
