Magnus Gives Back to the Community – Summer 2019

Here at Magnus, we try our best to give back to the communities around us at least a few times a year. Just this past winter, our team donated gifts during the Holidays to families in need. Recently, with all of this beautiful weather we’ve been having, we decided to get out of the office for a few hours and dedicate some time and energy to local charities. Keep reading to see what both the Raleigh and the West Chester teams were up to!

Raleigh:
RaleighA few weeks ago, some of our team members from the Raleigh HQ headed over to the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle Farm. The farm provides locally grown and chemical-free produce to those in need. Half of our team planted sunflower seeds, that, when fully grown, are sold to local florists, and the money raised is used to run the farm. The other half of our team dug up potatoes, then cleaned and packed them for sale. Additionally, volunteers were able to feed the farm animals and collect eggs from the chicken coop. This is the third year we have volunteered with Interfaith.

West Chester:
West ChesterOur Pennsylvania team visited the Charles Melton Community Center, where we learned the history of the Melton Center and some of its goals for the years to come. The Melton Center’s Mission is to contribute to the quality of life for all people of the greater West Chester community by continuing its long commitment to providing educational, recreational, cultural, and civic services. Our team helped to take care of the vegetable garden by pulling weeds and weed whacking. We also cleaned up the front entrance landscaping, trimmed overgrown plants, and freshened up the area.
