Fight, Flight, Freeze: Understanding the Stress Response in School
Stress happens. The stress response one experiences is our body’s natural reaction to stressful events which are caused by stressors. The brain becomes aware of a potential threat and sends signals to the body to prepare for the potential need to take action: fight, flight or freeze. When this happens to students, they often experience unwanted behaviors such as lack of focus or difficulty in social situations. In this webinar, we will explore what is happening in the brain, building a foundation of understanding of stress and anxiety to better support your students and problem solve some of the barriers and frustrations teachers and staff are seeing in schools.
